Blended First Aid at Work (FAW)

Blended First Aid at Work (FAW)

First Aid at Work Training with Flexible Online Learning

Need the full 18-hour First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification, but would prefer to complete some of the theory online?

Our blended FAW course combines 6 hours of online learning with 12 hours of face-to-face training, giving you the flexibility to complete the knowledge-based part of the course in your own time before joining us for the practical training and assessments.

How the Course Works

You complete the 6-hour online module before attending the face-to-face session. The online course covers the full FAW syllabus and includes demonstrations of the practical skills you will need.

The 12-hour face-to-face session focuses on practising and developing those skills with a trainer, confirming your knowledge and completing the required practical assessments.

What You'll Cover

The course includes:

  • The role and responsibilities of a first aider

  • Assessing an emergency and getting help

  • CPR and AED

  • Choking and unresponsive casualties

  • Severe bleeding, wounds and shock

  • Anaphylaxis

  • Heart attack and stroke

  • Asthma, diabetes and epilepsy

  • Burns, scalds and eye injuries

  • Injuries to bones, muscles and joints

  • Suspected spinal and chest injuries

  • Poisoning

  • First aid equipment

  • Preventing cross infection

  • Recording and reporting incidents

Online Learning & Assessment

The online element takes approximately 6 hours to complete.

You'll work through the course in sections, with a short self-check after each one. You need to achieve 100% on each self-check before moving on.

At the end of the online module, there is a multiple-choice assessment with an 80% pass mark and up to three attempts.

Once completed, you'll download your online learning certificate. This must be shown to the trainer before attending the face-to-face training.

Qualification

Once you have successfully completed both the online theory and face-to-face practical training, you'll receive your First Aid at Work certificate, which is valid for 3 years.
